Have you ever watched a film around a friend’s house or invited family to yours for the day and you all end up watching television together. Only to realize that certain seats are better located than others. It’s not a good idea to ask your sister in law or your cousin jack to move as that’s not really the done thing. Unfortunately you just have to wait until the film ends and just grin and bear it.
Then at last you have your favourite chair back again. If you are the head of the family then it doesnt matter majority of the time because you will have the best seat in the house but what about the rest of the family?
Are there others sitting there uncomfortably viewing the television because it’s situated in the wrong location because you don’t have the right TV stands. Have they got to grin and bear it because the television is to old , too small or stuck on a shelf instead of a modern TV stand.
Maybe it’s time to re-evaluate the layout of your room. Well that’s what we decided to do as a family a few months ago . In total we are a family of 5, Mum , Dad and the 3 children. Tom is 13, Rebecca is 12 and Daniel is 15. Because the television was situated in the middle of the room on top of a cabinet , more for convenients sake than anything else,we always found that as a famliy it would be a fight to see who gets the best seats in the house .
Of course as the head of the house I generally won but I knew that wasnt fair especially when we all watched a film together. The kids are now at an age where they prefer to spend a lot of time in their room.
I think they just got tired of dad stealing the best seat all the time especially when they chose the film.So I decided it was time to change things for the better and sort out the families entertainment once and for all before all the children finally decided to never come down from their rooms again.
So the family went on a shopping spree and purchased a new 42″ plasma TV. Before we purchased the television we all sat together and decided where the best place would be for our new plasma TV. After a majority vote it was decided the corner was the best position.
Not only did we invest in the best Plasma TV we also purchased the best plasma TV stand to match. A corner Tv stand for a 52″ plasma TV. Family viewing has improved immensely ever since. It’s just like being at our own personal private cinema complex every day. We just need to sort out the popcorn. Although that same old seat has always been the same for me !
