Inside mount installation

Begin by checking to see that the window jamb is in good shape. Then, you need to attach the shutter hardware with screws. Outside mount installation
Obviously, an outside mount mounts on the outside of the window, normally into the trim, but occasionally in the wall. If you are using an outside mount on shutters inside your house, avoid having to screw the shutter into sheetrock unless it is anchored as the unit will just come out of the wall. Some people favor an outside mount so that the installation can be less than perfect as regards the measurements, which an inside mount will not allow.
