Options for an alternate career in Berkeley

Berkeley has always been the pride of California for its multi-cultural flavors. As I took up a Bachelor’s program there in Applied Economics, I recognized that in some way, I have never owned any great affinity for this great subject of Economics, as I was more into exercise and works needing bodily effort and activity. Also, interestingly, having a dad for an Economics lecturer also doesn’t help to a great extent. I made up my mind to jump in the Berkeley Vocational Fair, just the other day when passing over it, just for kicks. “There’s no harm in glancing around, anything for a good interval from the grave guest lecture on the 3-hour long Welfare Economics” – I thought to myself. I was more than enthusiastic at this instance, for anything to take me away from the Pareto’s logic on some really boring Economic hypothesis. I chanced upon this Berkeley Plumbing counter, merely after wandering in and viewing counters for about ten odd minutes. A hefty man came rushing towards me, suddenly, after discovering me inspecting their banner closely. He captured me, and began rattling off like a train. I could decipher that he was very keen to make me enroll in his plumbing school as a student, and he appeared to be talking very quickly. Well! He desire that I should be a Berkeley Plumber!! Wow!! What a great proposal , that he don’t have additional sensory powers to gauge that I don’t like my subject and won’t object a change. For me, the plumbing appeared an exciting suggestion . In future, I wasn’t actually interested in becoming the plumber. Then I determined – why not to listen him out . The sales man was excited to know about this .He started telling me that various Berkeley Plumbers are doing quite well for themselves. How they started to setting up their own successful businesses of Plumbing stores and companies, and all that .He told me that it is not always about Academics. I just remembered that one line of his, noticeably imprinted in my mind 2 weeks after this fair, that even now makes me feel good and relaxed- “It’s not always about Academics”.
