I am in retail for {6} years now and have been enthusiastic about window dressing and how outlets create aesthetically stimulating features. I’m currently the visual merchandiser for a jewellery company – for some people it’d be too ‘fiddily’ but I simply love working with jewellery!
These pages is really a short exploration on a few of the areas that fascinate myself.
How to be prepared for Christmas trade!
* Have sale outlines already stickered inside backup, prepared for quick replenishment.
5. Organise your backup stock so that you understand how much of everything you have also to aid rapid replenishment.
* Have enough staff in during the morning and evening to restock and recover product.
* Have sufficient staff during peak trade, to serve and deal with enquiries. Have you considered employing Christmas temps?
* Make sure your team know very well what their sales targets are and they are held motivated.
All the best, remain calm and most importantly appreciate retail’s many exciting and lucrative time of year!
How to merchandise clothing effectively. Always remember some rules are meant to be broken – use your judgement if you think it looks good choose it!
5. I have a tendency to keep skirts and trousers near the bottom of a wall or perhaps display. Tops and shirts nearer the very best as it’s less visually taxing for the customer to scan.
5. Highlight item details and features through facing them forward any time possible as it’ll help them sell!
5. Always allow items space to produce without touching the actual arm below etc – if it viewed cramped a customer won’t spend some time considering it.
5. Ensure items are steamed if required to remove creases and help products look their finest.
* Use identical hangers and face them the same direction througout the actual display. I recommend employing a ‘? ‘ shape as a reminder to always keep hangers that shape.
5. Face clothes towards the front of the shop and towards the aisles to increase exposure and develop a sense involving tidiness.
* Try not to place items more than the typical customer can reach.
* Use all available POS and props have been appropriate to generate visual attention.
* Party items simply by style, selection, type of clothing, coloring.
* Always ensure your items tend to be ordered by simply size because it shows attention to detail.
5. When possible if items tend to be on ‘clip’ hangers make sure that the trousers or skirts are folded neatly so that they are the width of the hanger. It makes displays seem much tidier.
How to visual merchandise a jewellery display…. a few tips I’ve found on the way!
* Constantly be sure product is diplayed with labels/boxes/tags facing the same direction.
* Make sure that all products are flawlessly aligned or if offset, make certain that it seems intentional!
* Symmetry is a superb means of making your own display appear visually appealing and ordered. Create similar things match upon opposite sides or similar colours etc.
* Make sure all jewellery is clean and shiny to show it off to the most useful of it’s advantage.
* To improve add-on product sales merchandise complementing items adjacent to one another or within an obvious location.
* Although time consuming – ensure all clasps, fittings etc are in-line or if displayed upon cards, hidden by the card. You will be amazed how much neater the display can look.
* To produce striking features, produce a feature of one’s bestselling line. Double or even triple deal with it if possible. Bold fashionable colours or the brand new should have item may be enough to entice a passing customer to buy.
* Use all available ‘point involving sale’ material in your favor, although try not to let it detract from the impact of your display. High light promotions clearly to maximise sales.
* Mannequins and jewellery stands can really help the consumer visualise what the jewellery can look like once they use it. Be sure you simply take every opportunity open to display your own jewellery about mannequins and displays throughout the store.
5. Always stick to colour or story ranges as its really assist your display look impressive.
* Use your familiarity with colour theory to ensure that adjacent runs of jewellery don’t clash. I’m always reluctant to merchandise silver pieces along with gold and pink tones near yellows etc.
