Although this can happen to wood, vinyl seems to take more of a bruising because it is a softer substance. Many people prefer to avoid vinyl because it is does not look as respectable as wood. There are still many consumers who would rather have real wood.
Vinyl shutters are, let’s face it, plastic. Some of them are made to look like real wood, but are easily percieved the observant eye. While vinyl shutters are less expensive than wood shutters and require no painting or sealing, wood shutters are nonetheless preferred by most buyers.
