At the celebration of their wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Jones invited me over supper to make celebrations. I don’t know how but this dinner would be a remembered one to me. It was an indifferent supper anyone would have with his neighbor. Home made food, spic and span house and a happy family, a family comprising of three sons. Yes, three sons whose diversified careers made me go out of the box. As soon as I was seated myself on the dining table, I looked at them and passed a smile, but to my astonishment, none of them responded. This gave me a sensation as if I am sitting in front of three Robots, three stiff Robots. Then Mr. Jones introduced me to his three sons, or to say, the three stiff robots. Just to respond, I quizzed Mr. Jones about his sons’ professions.Now the thing that I am still unable to understand is that, the very second he told me about their careers, my mind clogged up with a thought, totally encouraged by those stiff actions of three, that was completely bizarre. The first son was introduced as one of the Oakland Plumbers !Seeing him gave me an instant thought that his work was not to mend seeping taps but to collate and fix the flow of stupid thoughts jutting out of the mind, similar to the particles of H2O, I mean the molecules of water and put them back into the head so that they don’t flow like liquid. His second son, an Oakland Electricians , looked so still and expressionless that it gave me a sensation as if he is the criminal who has spoiled the wiring of minds of his two brothers with his different tools such as conduit benders, pliers, wire strippers, drills, ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes. An image formed in my mind the way he must have opened brain, wired it and then plugged it again. Whoa! Then comes the last but not least, his youngest son, one of those famous Oakland Roofers who show brilliance of work through their work. But then I thought, how could this emotionless robot make those eye catchy art works on top of the roof. To me it appeared as if he could only set the roof of brains and make them quiet to the emotions and all, like his. Possibly, it’s the sentiment that makes the machine being titled as HUMANS….
