Use Closet Organizer To Get More Free Space

Here are some tips that may help you in organizing your closet. Of course, there are many more out there, but these 5 are most important when it comes to gaining space.

1. As a first step, remove everything from the closet. Before attempting to put your home organizing ideas to work, you may want to get everything out and sort them. Separate all the items that have not been used for a long time or do not fit you anymore. You may want to donate those at a local charity than keep them in your closet forever, or if you are creative enough to make a new look out of those old dresses, you can also save them but if not, you have to let go of them.

2. Think and create a picture of what you want for your closet. Have some imagination and practice creativity to have more storage space in the same closet. It’s very helpful to have a color scheme for your wardrobe, meaning you house together in one group all your dresses of similar color.  You may add more rods and racks within the closet for increased storage space. You may explore the possibility of having more storage boxes to get additional space. Also, using hanging wardrobe organizing is great.

3. Group items as per their utility and purpose. While  you may have a group for formal wear separated from the casual dresses, make another group of clothing that you use for going to office. Another trick will be to separate them by the season. For instance, store your dresses for the current season in a more accessible area, whereas those you are going to need in the forthcoming season may take a back seat in the storage area.

4. Arrange your shoes on a rack and get rid of the boxes you might have used long ago for keeping your firs. While arranging your shoe rack, keep you favorite pairs at spots that are easy to approach and keeps the shoes visible. Don’t forget to use wardrobe closet shelf as well.

5. Make use of drawers for storing smaller items. Drawers are vey well suited for keeping small sized items.. Consider having a drawer for small items like socks and hankies while undergarments could be stored in another to save your time looking for these small items, especially when you are in a hurry. And remember neatly folded items not only look good but also take considerably less space. You can also put additional hooks for belts and caps. Likewise, make provision for keeping bags. Follow the same old principle of keeping the more often used items in the front row from they can be retrieved easily.
